UNWRA Banned From Israel

Written by Daniel Mercado

On Monday, October 28, the Israeli Knesset Passed two separate bills, one banning Israeli Officials from having contact with the UNWRA, a refugee relief program for Palestinians, and the other banning the UNRWA from entering Occupied Palestine. [1] The UNRWA is the primary humanitarian aid agency and organization that operates in Occupied Palestine and neighboring nations, according to the UNRWA’s website. They state that their “services encompass primary and vocational education, primary health care, relief and social services, infrastructure and camp improvement.” [2]

The Israeli state has declared the UNRWA to be a terrorist organization, effectively condemning Palestinians in Gaza to famine and death, and Palestinians in the West Bank to poverty. [3]
