On Saturday, Pentagon spokesman Major General Patrick Ryder stated in a press release that the United States Department of Defense will deploy the anti-ballistic missile system THAAD , and 100 US servicemen, claiming that “It is part of the broader adjustments the U.S. military has made in recent months, to support the defense of Israel and protect Americans from attacks by Iran and Iranian-aligned militias.” [1]
