Dock Workers Strike Has Ended with a Tentative Agreement Being Drawn

Over 45,000 dockworkers across 36 ports, stretching from Maine to Texas, went on strike on the First of October. The International Longshoreman Association voted for a strike to receive a 77% pay rise and a ban on automation to secure union jobs. [1]

President Biden has vowed to not stop the work stoppage. In fact, Biden has publicly commented to support the ILA. The tentative agreement has not been made public but has been celebrated by the union and the owners. [2]
